Our Top 5 Podcast Episodes on Mobile Marketing

If we could scream “We love mobile marketing” from the top of a hill every day, we would. Okay, fine. That’s a bit of an exaggeration. But we have a soft spot in our hearts for everything mobile…so much so our podcast was originally named Mobile Matters. #TheMoreYouKnow

We couldn’t celebrate our 100th episode of the podcast without naming our top five podcast episodes on mobile marketing. Let’s dive into them, shall we?

Alex Russell | Mobile Matters, 12

If you haven’t listened to the story of how Stephanie Cox asked Alex Russell to be a guest on Mobile Matters, it’s a must-listen (after you read this blog post, of course). Alex Russell was a dream guest of ours, and why wouldn’t he be? His nickname is the Father of Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). In his two-part episode, Alex shares a brief history of PWAs and where they’re headed.

Guilda Hilaire | Mobile Matters, 05

Going to the dentist, getting our oil changed, or dusting our homes are all things that benefit us in the long run, we just procrastinate doing them (or simply ignore them) until the last minute. When Guilda Hilaire was a guest on Mobile Matters, she reminded all of us to get legal and compliance involved early on in our mobile marketing efforts. Before you roll your eyes (trust me, I get that this may be the last thing you want to do), getting these departments’ feedback could prevent you from hitting a major roadblock when you’re already far into the process.

Spencer Burke | Mobile Matters, 13

Keep it simple. We’ve all heard that one. Well, the saying applies to your mobile campaigns too. The best mobile campaigns aren’t the ones with all of the bells and whistles. Sometimes the most memorable ones are the simplest ones. Spencer Burke agrees. During his episode of Mobile Matters, he recommends using what’s worked for you in the past and iterating off that.

Dan Laughlin | Mobile Matters, 19
Raise your hand if you’ve ever said, “I needed this done yesterday,”. As marketers, we’re probably all raising our hands. Sometimes we get so caught up accelerating the launch of our digital initiatives that we don’t take the time to incorporate customer feedback. And if we’re not designing with the customer in mind, what are we doing? When Dan Laughlin was on Mobile Matters, he reminded us of the first rule of mobile marketing – design with the customer in mind.

Zack Argyle | Mobile Matters, 27

One of our favorite PWAs is the Pinterest PWA, ever heard of it? Zack Argyle was another dream guest of ours to have on Mobile Matters. Zack was the former Engineering Manager at Pinterest where he launched the Pinterest PWA. When Stephanie Cox quizzed Zack on advice he would give to someone building their first PWA, he only had two words to say: do it.
